SraZone aggregates publicly available job listings from third-party sources. This policy describes what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We are committed to processing your personal data lawfully, fairly, and transparently.

Information we collect

Account information: email, display name, and profile picture (from Google OAuth) when you create an account.

Profile information: bio, skills, years of experience, and email digest preferences (optional).

Job alert preferences: keywords, categories, locations, job type, experience level, salary requirements, delivery preferences for web or Telegram notifications, and Telegram chat ID if linked.

Usage data: pages visited, search queries, job listings viewed, time spent, device type, browser, and IP address.

Authentication tokens: secure tokens stored in cookies for login sessions (7-day access, 30-day refresh).

How we use information

We use your data to:

Provide and maintain the Service
Create and manage your account
Send job alerts you subscribe to
Improve search quality and user experience
Ensure security and prevent fraud

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

Legal basis for processing

We process your data based on:

Contract performance: providing the Service, managing your account, sending job alerts
Legitimate interest: improving the Service, analytics, security, fraud prevention
Consent: marketing communications, optional features
Legal obligation: responding to legal requests, complying with laws

Third-party services

We share data with trusted third parties who help us operate the Service:

Vercel: hosting and infrastructure
Google Analytics: usage analytics (anonymous data)
Google OAuth: optional sign-in authentication
Telegram Bot API: job alert delivery

Data retention

Active accounts: Retained while your account is active
Deleted accounts: Removed within 30 days of deletion request; backups purged within 90 days
Usage data: Anonymized and retained indefinitely for analytics
Search queries: Retained for 24 months for popular searches
Authentication tokens: Expire after 7-30 days

Your rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your personal data
Export your data in a portable format
Opt out of non-essential communications
Withdraw consent at any time

Data security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), secure token-based authentication, and regular security monitoring. In the event of a data breach, we will notify affected users within 72 hours.

SraZone is operated from Ethiopia. Your data may be processed in Ethiopia, the United States (Vercel, Google Analytics), and other countries where our service providers operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards including standard contractual clauses and data processing agreements.

2. Content & Indexing Policy

SraZone aggregates publicly available job information for discovery and redirects applicants to the original source. We operate as a search index and aggregation platform, not a destination job board.

Our indexing approach

To protect the intellectual property of our sources while providing value to job seekers, we distinguish between factual data and expressive content:

Factual Data: We index job title, employer name, location, deadline, and salary. Mere facts are not subject to copyright protection.
Expressive Content: We do not reproduce full job descriptions or long-form content without permission. Public sources get summaries with links to originals.
Personal Data: We filter out recruiter names, phone numbers, and email addresses from summaries. Contact details are only available on the source site.

Takedown requests

If you are a copyright holder and believe your work has been improperly reproduced, contact us at copyright@srazone.et or use the Report button on any job listing. We honor valid takedown requests promptly.

Exclusion requests

If you operate a job board or career page and wish to be excluded from our index, contact support@srazone.com with your domain or channel details.
